Abstract

|
Subdural empyema is a pyogenic infection with intracranial focal collection located between the dura mater and the arachnoid mater. Subdural empyema is a life-threatening infection, and delayed diagnosis and treatments may lead to mortality and serious neurological complications. Managements include broad-spectrum antibiotics and early surgical removal of empyema. We present a case of an adult male with a subdural empyema mimicking the subdural hematoma and discuss differential points.
